Detail About How To Apply

Applications are invited for the May 2024 intake from suitably qualified individuals who meet the minimum requirements in the following TEVETA certificate programs:

  1. LEVEL 5 (TECHNICIAN) PROGRAMS (2 YEARS 6 MONTHS)
    • Electrical Technician
    • Overhead Lines Construction and Maintenance
    • Cable Jointing and Termination

Programme Entry Requirements

A minimum of a Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with at least 2 credits in Science and Mathematics and any other 3 passes including English language.

 

  1. LEVEL 4 (CRAFT) CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS (2 YEARS)
    • Electrical Fitting
    • Overhead Lines Construction and Maintenance
    • Cable Jointing and Termination

Programme Entry Requirements

A minimum of a Grade Twelve (12) School certificate with 5 passes in subjects including Science, Mathematics and English Language

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Applicants should submit the following:

  • Application form
  • A copy of grade 12 certificate or statement of results
  • A photocopy of the candidate’s NRC

The application fee of K150 must be deposited in the account with the details provided below and proof of payment attached to the application.

Accommodation Facilities

The Centre has a canteen which serves both the trainees and members of staff. The canteen is behind the administration block and can cater for sixty (60) diners at once. Special meals are available on arrangement with the Catering Officer.

Hostels

There are five hostels at the main campus. These are; Kafue, Zambezi, Mosi-o-tunya, Luangwa, and Luapula.Apply, go through the admission requirements below, fill in the ZTC online application or download the admission form, and drop them off at the registrar’s office.

Sports & Recreation

To enhance entertainment for trainees, the Centre subscribes to Multichoice Zambia. This is housed in the lounge just within the administration building. All hostels have TV facilities.

Sports

The Centre makes provision for a wide range of sporting activities, such as basketball, table tennis, chess, football, etc. the trainees have freedom of choice as to which sport they intend to participate in. the Centre also arranges competitions with other institutions e.g NORTEC, NIEC, TVTC, etc.

Deserving candidates, names will be submitted by Supervisors to the HR personal who later selects the ones eligible to be trained

Submit The Form

Acceptance Letters are sent directly to the selected candidate and a list of their names for both Online applicants and walk-in applicants also sent to ZTC.

Self-Sponsored Students

Applicants apply direct to the Rector – ZTC using the uploaded application form and later the selection team chooses the deserving applicants.

Self-Sponsored Students

Letters of acceptance are sent to successful candidates and send copies to relevant parties involved in the references made to the application process.

Teveta -SDFs

The Skills Development Levy was established in 2016 under the Skills Development Levy Act No. 46 of 2016. The main objective of the levy is to provide a financial resource for the TEVET sector for skills development, in collaboration with the Technical Education

Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA) was established under the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Act of No. 13 of 1998, and the amendment Act No. 11 of 2005.

Things To Know First

The Common Application is required for students applying to any or all of ZTC programs. You’ll be able to choose your hostel and program s that you are interested in.

 

  • Contact information for the Rector or other school representative who will complete your Common Application School Report and submit your official high school transcript.
  • Contact information for one teacher (or two, maximum) who will complete the Teacher Evaluation form.
  • Costs will be communicated to prospective sponsors on request. The cost include tuition, boarding and lodging.
